Sound Treats for Pets
It all started when…
I began to notice how much my own pets would come near me when I played music at home. Sometimes they wanted to be right up next to the instrument to feel the vibrations. My first Shih-Tzu was my best friend and she made it 19 years with me, always with me at my music practice at home. Now I have a 22-year old cat and I see how much she relaxes next to my harp when I play.
I began playing for other animals. One of the most notable was playing harp for the horses. I was amazed at how curious they were about the vibrations. One traumatized horse came out of hiding, slowly but after 20 minutes she made her way to stand 5 feet from me as I played.
